Sales Contract

1.

The animal must not be purchased for the sole purpose of breeding and the buyer must not breed from the animal prior to obtaining consent from the breeder so that lineage checks may be carried out on the potential breed subject to avoid cross contamination of the blood lines.

2.

We the breeders advise that the buyer registers the animal at a local Veterinary Practice, preferably one with knowledge of exotic animal species (At the buyers own choice and expense)

3.

We the breeders advise that specialist animal insurance is sought for the animal due to its exotic and rare nature (At the buyers expense).

4.

We the breeders believe that the animal is in good health but we do not offer nor imply any warranty as to the health of the animal or its ultimate fitness. The buyer acknowledges that they will rely entirely upon their own inspection of the animal and their own Veterinary Surgeons examination should they wish to have one carried out at their own expense.

5.

Should the Veterinary Surgeon find any problems which in their opinion renders the animal unfit for sale the buyer may return the animal to the breeder provided that:-

a.

The buyer must inform the breeder in writing, supported by the Veterinary Surgeons certificate within 7 days of the purchase date of their intention to return the animal.

b.

The buyer must return the animal within 10 days of the date of purchase of the animal in the same state of health as it was purchased other than the health defect arising from a problem discovered upon the examination referred to in item 5 above.

6.

If the buyer should exercise their option to return the animal to the breeder in accordance with item 5 of this contract, the following provisions shall apply:-

a.

The buyer shall return the animal to the breeder at their own expense.

b.

The breeder will refund the purchase price of the animal in full.

7.

If the buyer should decide not to exercise their option to return the animal to the breeder, the buyer shall have no right to claim damages from the breeder in lieu of exercising such right.

8.

Please note that it is not uncommon for these animals to live for up to 8 years in captivity; should the buyer not be able to care for the animal at any point during its life, then the animal must not be resold and is to be returned to the breeder or rehomed within a suitable environment.

This is a formal document designed to record legal rights and obligations, we the breeders and the buyer acknowledge that we are aware of and understand the terms and conditions set out in this contract and agree to be bound by them.
